First Ten Pages:
AI Manifesto

AI will never replace writers. It isn't human.

01

You Own Your Work. Period.

Your scripts, characters, dialogue, ideas, and creative material belong to you. First Ten Pages will never use your work to train AI models. If you choose to use one of our AI feedback tools, your script is analyzed only to provide the feedback you requested. We will not sell your writing, claim ownership of it, or knowingly use it to train or improve generative AI models.

02

AI Will Never Replace Writers.

AI isn't human. Great writing comes from human experience. Your point of view, sense of humor, fears, relationships, memories, bad decisions, weird ideas, and the way you see the world make your writing yours. No algorithm has lived a life. AI has never sat in a writers' room, bombed a pitch, fallen in love, raised a family, or stayed up all night trying to fix an ending. First Ten Pages exists because we want more people reading scripts written by people.

03

AI Is a Tool, Not the Writer.

AI on First Ten Pages is designed to give writers quick, private feedback before putting their work in front of human readers. It might identify an unclear character goal, flag a confusing plot point, analyze structure, or point out places where a reader's attention might drift. Think of it as an early set of eyes on your work. Use what helps. Ignore what doesn't. Writing is subjective, and sometimes the weird choice is the right choice.

04

Human Readers Are What Matter.

AI feedback will never replace the core measurement behind First Ten Pages: real human behavior. Did someone start your script? Did they make it through the first ten pages? Did they keep reading? Did they finish? Those decisions matter because a human made them.

05

AI Should Never Pretend to Be Human.

Writers should always know whether feedback came from AI or a person. AI feedback will be clearly identified as AI feedback. Human feedback will come from humans. We have no interest in disguising one as the other.

06

Technology Should Connect Writers and Readers.

Our goal isn't to use technology to remove people from screenwriting. Our goal is to use technology to remove the barriers between writers and readers. Upload your script. Share a link. Get people reading. See what happens.

We want people reading your script.

At the end of the day, we don't want AI reading your screenplay. We want people reading it.
