Frequently asked questions.
The essentials on the platform, your data, and sharing your work.
The Basics
How does it work?
Writers upload their screenplay, get a shareable link, and track how many readers finish the first ten pages and continue reading. Readers click the link and start reading immediately — no account, no download, no friction.
Is it free?
Uploading and sharing scripts is free. Reading scripts is always free. Professional coverage from marketplace reviewers is a paid service — pricing is set by each individual reviewer.
Do readers need an account?
No. Readers click your link and start reading immediately in their browser. No account, no download, no friction. An account is required to leave a comment, save a script to their library, or submit structured feedback to a writer.
What file formats can I upload?
First Ten Pages accepts PDF files. Export your script as a PDF from Final Draft, Highland, WriterDuet, Arc Studio, or any other screenwriting application before uploading.
Can I upload a TV pilot or series bible?
Yes. First Ten Pages supports features, TV pilots, short films, and other screenwriting formats. Set the format when you upload and it will be surfaced correctly in discovery.
Discovery & Rankings
How are scripts ranked?
By real reader behavior — how many people start your script, how many finish the first ten pages, and what percentage keep reading. There is no algorithm to game, no follower count, and no promotional placement. A script rises by being read.
Does F10P rate my screenplay?
No. No stars. No scores out of ten. Scripts are displayed and ranked by what readers actually do.
What does "Script of the Week" or "Editor's Choice" mean?
These are editorial badges awarded by the First Ten Pages team to scripts we think deserve wider attention. They appear on the script's card in discovery. They are not purchased or applied for — they are awarded.
Your Scripts
How do I upload and manage my scripts?
Upload PDF screenplays and manage your loglines, synopses, covers, and privacy settings from your Studio.
Can I update my script after uploading?
Yes. You can upload a new version of your screenplay from your Studio at any time. Previous read data is preserved so you can track how engagement changes across drafts.
Can I keep my screenplay private?
Yes. Set a script to Private and protect it with a password. Anyone with your link and the password can read it immediately — no account required. Private scripts do not appear in discovery or search. You can make a script public at any time.
Can I see who read my script?
Your analytics dashboard shows how many readers started your script, how far they got, and how many finished. Logged-in readers are tracked by reader type. Specific identities of anonymous readers are not exposed.
Feedback & Marketplace
Can I get feedback on my script?
Several ways. Any logged-in reader can leave a comment directly on your script page. For structured, detailed notes you can hire a vetted professional reviewer through the F10P marketplace. You can also add specific questions for readers to answer after finishing. And for quick structural analysis before sharing with anyone, there is an optional AI-assisted analysis tool available from your Studio.
How do professional reviews work?
Professional reviewers on First Ten Pages are vetted screenwriters and industry readers. Each reviewer sets their own services and pricing. You submit your script, they read it and return written coverage. Turnaround times and deliverables are listed on each reviewer's profile. All transactions are handled through the platform.
Can I save scripts to read later?
Yes. Logged-in readers can save any script to their library from the script's page and come back to it at any time.
How do I become a professional reader?
Experienced screenwriters and industry professionals can apply to join the F10P marketplace as paid readers. Every reader is vetted before offering services on the platform. Apply through Become a Reviewer.
Privacy & Your Work
How is my script IP protected?
You retain 100% of your copyright and intellectual property. First Ten Pages never claims ownership of your work. Every draft you upload is timestamped and saved in your script's version history, creating a clear record of your work over time.
Does F10P watermark uploaded scripts?
No. We do not currently apply automatic digital watermarks to uploaded scripts.
AI
Does F10P use AI?
Yes, as an optional tool for quick, private analysis before sharing your script with human readers. It might identify an unclear character goal, flag a confusing plot point, or analyze structure. AI feedback is always clearly identified as AI. See our AI Manifesto.
Will my screenplay be used to train AI?
No. Your work is your work. Your scripts, characters, dialogue, and ideas will not be used by First Ten Pages to train AI models — period. See our AI Manifesto.
Account
How do I delete my account?
